The legal texts governing electronic signature
The European eIDAS regulation governs electronic signature in the European Union. In France, articles 1366 and 1367 of the Civil Code define its legal value.

Under French law, most contracts do not require a particular form. Where the law does not impose a specific form, a reliable electronic signature, within the meaning of articles 1366 and 1367 of the Civil Code, can be used.
